Indie games don’t have the budget that blockbuster games have. Indie games might have simple drawings as backgrounds, their soundtrack may have been created by only one person, or perhaps the entire game was crafted by a single programmer. This lack of studio support is both a positive and a negative for indie games. If you need a game with cutting-edge graphics, programming, or years of development time, you might not be happy with an indie game. However, if you’re willing to overlook simple visuals or audio in return for innovate gameplay, you should consider picking up an indie game or two.

Some of the biggest hits of the past few years have been indie games, although you might not realize it. Braid, Minecraft, and Terraria were all developed by independent producers. Even Half-Life, one of the biggest gaming properties for PC, was originally an user-created mod for Counter Strike. Indie games are able to explore plot and gameplay mechanics that big studios aren’t willing to take a risk on. It’s true that sometimes indie games miss the mark and deliver a game that simply isn’t fun to play. If you do your research and read reviews, you can score some excellent gameplay for a fraction of the price of blockbuster games.

With the many video game systems available today, many homes have more than one brand and in many rooms. The whole family is now involved in game playing either with hand held games, games on the phone or on the system at home. 2011 introduced many games, in all genre’s but many did not receive the hype that the popular games did, and therefore, they may have been overlooked. Now, without further ado, 2011 games which were overlooked but shouldn’t be missed.

You Don’t Know Jack. This is a trivia based party game which will allow the whole family to be involved.Didn’t catch that? This explains it. This game combines useless general knowledge and pop culture references. The players will answer ten multiple choice questions and then complete in a final “Jack Attack” round. By answering correctly and quickly the player will earn “money” and incorrect answers result in penalties.

WWE AllStars. This is old school meets new age. The game is very arcade style with great animation. The characters are available to perform exaggerated moves, slow motion, and crowd interaction. The game has the new wrestlers such as Rey Mysterio, Big Show and Triple H as well as the old school wrestlers such as Jake the Snake, Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. So for those adults who were fans of the WWF, who have kids who are fans of the WWE, now the two meet and a new love can be shared.

Ben 10: Galactic Racing. For those Ben 10 fans, a racing circuit where fifteen characters can be utilized to win the race. The characters will be able to race through the circuits while gathering power up’s. Power up’s can be used to boost speed or slow down the opponents.

There are many other games which were released and will bring many hours of gaming fun to a gamer! It is not always necessary to purchase the newest game but look for those others which may not be as popular but will offer hours of fun and togetherness!

Now that you’re mobile you’re in a great position to meet other gamers so take your computer to one of these likely game meetup spots to find out.
Comic Book Stores: Other gamers go to places that feed their hobby – many gamers also love comic books. Head to your local supplier to meet people with similar interests to your own.
The Library: The logic on this one isn’t as fuzzy as it sounds. Some gamers don’t have home internet access so they’ll go to where they can get it: the library. Take your own connection there and look for people playing games you know something about then strike up a conversation.
A Park: You may or may not find other gamers here but odds are, you need some sun! Get outdoors and breathe some fresh air while defending your high score. Best case scenario? You meet someone else out to do the same thing.

Strategic games are by far the most attention grabbing games there are out there. They require thought, planning, and adpating to the environment and what is going on. When playing a strategic game, the player has many more options to choose than from. Strategic games demand a lot of attention, so getting bored is least likley to happen. If a player is an adventurer seeker then strategic games are what they want. They will not recquire the gamer to roam around, back and forth, looking for something or going somewhere. In a strategic game, the player influences what happens, the environment can change, players can increase in number or decrease, and the best part being there can be all sorts of possible conclusions and not one. With strategic games, there are only rules set forth to be followed, everything else happens. So there are no story lines to follow, no characters to guide through no levels to get to, just the player and his or her opponent. Ther are also benefits to playing strategic games, in that the player will learn how to strategize, use information, and plan out a possible conclusion, skills that are always used in everyday life.

Video games have been around for over a decade now and continue to grow in popularity. The games have become more sophisticated and lifelike so that it is big business globally. Many people might be surprised to learn that playing video games does not necessarily mean that the brain is being mesmerized and drained by fast paced visual stimulus. They might also be under the illusion that video games are just for kids.
Research shows that playing video games engages the brain into activities such as short term memory, logic, physical co-ordination and creativity to name a few.Is this new to you? Catch up here Games too have become demographic specific so there is something for everyone.
The player can choose from fantasy world adventures to social simulations. The challenge is to put the brain on the edge of not being bored and not being frustrated. It is kept busy trying to solve the challenges built into the game.
When choosing a video game it is best to keep an open mind. If the prospective buyer is a beginner to video games they should choose what interests them. By choosing what is appealing there will be more motivation to accept the challenges that the game is presenting.

For those who are into online gaming, and the gaming industry in general, there is always a new game which just comes out which every gamer is looking to try out, and see if it will really take off amongst the online gaming world. So, depending on which style of gaming you play, from role playing, puzzle, challenging games, to just those silly games which you can’t get off your computer and stop playing, there are new games which are always being released, which gamers are always on the lookout for, to determine if it really is the next new game to play.

So, when looking for the rising stars in the gaming industry, many online gamers look to the name of the developer and what other games they have produced in the past, to determine whether or not the game will do well. Gamers will also look at the graphics, user interface, ease of mobility, and the ease of guiding your character or pieces (for puzzle games), online.

Video games are well liked among kids, teens, and adults. Since everyone in the household loves video games, why not play video games together? All of the following games are fun for all ages.

Rock Band
No need to fantasize; this is where you get to live your dream of being in a rock band. Play the drums, guitar, bass guitar, vocals, and (in Rock Band 3) keyboard while rocking out to the music. Rock band has genres of music in track packs (country, metal, classic rock) and got different versions of the game (Rock Band 1, 2, & 3, Lego, Beatles, Green Day, AC/DC). The game also comes in mobile and handheld versions.

Just Dance
If rocking out isn’t your thing, dance! Just Dance is a game to get everyone moving. Select a song and follow the dancer on the screen. Just Dance also has sequels (Just Dance 2; 3 in Oct. 2011) and different versions (Just Dance Broadway and Just Dance Kids).

LEGO Video Games
If you prefer sitting, play LEGO games. Most come in movie versions like Star Wars or Harry Potter but you can also try the Rock Band, Battles Ninjago and Universe versions as well.
